Several issues ago I raised what has turned out to be a fairly controversial issue. That of dishonesty in our industry.
I have had a number of comments from readers about whether my concern over letter shops and other vendors is justified. There was a theme in the comments that we should only be working with vendors that “we trust.”
My response to that is that I started out trusting my vendors...but have learned the hard way that I must take precautions to ensure that my trust is warranted.
A recent case of mail fraud direct from the newspapers
And in fact, while reading a recent copy of DM News I came across a case in point:
A federal grand jury has indicted the president and owner of a mail consolidation and transportation service on charges that he dumped clients’ bulk mailings at recycling centers instead of shipping them to the U.S. Postal Service for delivery.
3602 forms and list seeding could have made the difference
Here is a case where paying attention to your 3602s and list seeds really come into play.
The mail left the printers and the lettershops but never made it to the post offices. Therefore the mailers might never have received 3602 forms and definitely not the pieces that should have come to seeded addresses.
These are both things that should immediately raise red flags.
Again, there are a variety of steps that you must take with every mailing to ensure that your mail gets to its destination.
As I mentioned in the previous articles, the steps are available to you in my Special Report 7 Proven Secrets to Getting Your Mail Delivered.
