Why your company should look into 3D direct marketing!

When you've got a high margin product to sell to a small group of hard-to-reach executives or very wealthy prospects, very few marketing techniques work as well as 3D direct mail.

In fact, 3D direct mail campaigns have consistently delivered response rates of anywhere from 5% - 25%!

There are three basic elements to a strong 3D campaign. They are:

  • A "wow" impact. 3D marketing must include an enclosure that will make your target sit up and listen.

    For instance, a very successful 3D campaign (92.7% response, $60 million in new revenue) was sent out by the CIT Group. It included two autographed baseballs, one by Mickey Mantle, the other by Willie Mays, and a stand for three balls.
    The third ball -- signed by Hank Aaron -- was the offer. In order to receive it, prospects needed to schedule a presentation with the CIT Group.
  • A strong sales letter. You've got your prospect's attention with your "wow" enclosure, now close the deal with your sales letter. Remember to use all the tried and true rules of direct response copy -- even with the best idea, non-direct marketing copy won't sell!
  • Bypass the gatekeepers. To get by secretaries or mailrooms, send the piece by Fed Ex. It will be opened and read.
